At Support Hand’s Foundation, we recognize that many children face the harsh reality of sleeping on the streets every night, often separated from their families, and lacking necessities such as food and shelter.
To address this pressing issue, we have implemented a non-residential approach called Drop-In Centres. Our Drop-In Centres provide a safe and supportive environment where children can seek refuge and support.
We believe that by establishing meaningful connections with these children, we can better understand their circumstances and develop tailored intervention plans.
One of the primary goals of our Drop-In Centres is to carry out thorough assessments of each child’s situation. This assessment includes gathering relevant information about their families or successor guardians and understanding their specific needs. We believe that this knowledge is crucial to providing appropriate counselling and assistance.
In addition to providing necessities and socialization opportunities, our intervention programs at Drop-In Centres aim to promote positive behaviours among the children. We understand the importance of fostering a nurturing environment that encourages personal growth and development.
Furthermore, our interventions focus on facilitating the reunification of children with their families whenever possible. We recognize the fundamental role that family plays in a child’s life, and we aim to support and promote healthy connections between these children and their families or successor guardians.
Reintegration into a stable family environment is a key goal of our intervention programs. Support Hand’s Foundation acknowledges that addressing the needs of these children requires a multi-tiered approach.
